The term chakra is a Sanskrit word that means spinning wheel. There are over 112 known chakras, but there are seven main ones. Every living being, has chakras, located along the spinal column from the base of the spine to the top of the head.  

The chakras in the lower part of your body spin slower than those in the upper part of your body.  Lower chakras correspond to issues of the material world, upper chakras are focused more on spiritual issues. The chakras are sometimes referred to as little suns or energy centers. They are distributors of energy from the higher consciousness and allow energy to circulate through our body. Similar to the sun, and its power, the disk shape represents the wheel of destiny. Each chakra connects to and resonates with particular stones and scents, creating an amplified healing effect. A basic knowledge of the chakras and the stones that resonate with them allow for a more peaceful harmonious life, creating a balance in our lives and a higher sense of awareness.

Chakra 1:MULADHARA Root Chakra

The Root Chakra is the seat of the physical body and is located at the base of the spine. Energy travels through your legs and grounds you to the Earth connecting the earth to your physical body. This chakra deals primarily with survival, physical health and the material world. It is the chakra for concentration and is a brilliant, bright, ruby RED color.  The element of this chakra is the Earth and the sense of smell. The stones that resonate with this chakra are Hematite, Red Jasper, Jet, Onyx, Ruby, and Smokey Quartz and the scent is Royal Amber.  Your root chakra is related to issues of physical security and is affected by your thoughts and feelings about: finances, career, home, physical safety, and needs.

  Chakra 2: SVADHISTHANA Sacral Chakra
 

The Sacral Chakra is located midway between your navel and the base of your spine, and it appears as a beautiful shade of ORANGE.   It balances masculine and feminine energy as well as creativity and sexual energies. Addressing physical concerns, tantric being and emotional polarities, it connects to the lymphatic system, creating a duality type energy. It is an eternal yin yang of existence. It focuses on movement, sensation, pleasure and desire. The element of this chakra is water, and it resonates with the sense that resonates with this chakra. This chakra works with the sexual organs. The stones that resonate most with this chakra are Carnelian, Opal, Sunstone, Orange Topaz and the scent is Frankincense.  The sacral chakra is affected by your thoughts and feelings with respect to: cravings for physical pleasures, addictions, physical body.  

Chakra 3: MANIPURA Solar Plexus Chakra


The Solar Plexus is the seat of the emotional body  located in the mid-spine area right behind the navel. This chakra spins at a faster rate than the root and the sacral chakras, it radiates heat, power and enthusiasm. Igniting the fire within, it calls you forth to harness your personal power,  as well as help you live a life of purpose. It is the chakra of will, determination,  individual power, instinct and emotion.  A clean Solar Plexus  Chakra looks like a ball of YELLOW sunshine, resonating with the element of fire Amber, Citrine, Yellow Labradorite, Pyrite, and Topaz are the stones that resonate with this chakra and the scent is Sandalwood. 

Chakra 4: ANAHATA Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra deals with unconditional love and is located at the center of chest near your heart. It forms a bridge between your upper and lower chakras, between mind, body,  spirit and the lower chakras, your thought and experience of yourself.  It governs matters of the heart, such as love, compassion, relationships and forgiveness. It helps with balance, the healing touch and focuses on love and self esteem. A clean Heart Chakra is emerald GREEN  in color (with pink and gold accents).  Resonating with the sense of touch, it affects the circulatory system. The stones that resonate are Aventurine, Emerald, Green Flourite, Jade, Malachite, Rose Quartz, Rhodochrosite and Rhodonite are the stones that resonate with this chakra, the scent is Rose and the element is air.  Love is the source of our power, of everything we need and desire.   The more we cleanse our heart chakras the greater the intensity, and accuracy our clairsentience has.

Chakra 5: VISHUDDHA Throat Chakra

The Throat Chakra is located behind the Adam's apple (mid-throat region) and expresses your voice by way of body language, verbal communication and creative expression. This chakra facilitates a deep listening, and creates a vibrations of the universe.  A clean Throat Chakra resembles the bright blue sky.  It also works with integrity, and chanting and is associated with communication.  Resonating with the sense of hearing,  and the element of sound, the color of this chakra is LIGHT BLUE.  Amazonite, Aquamarine, Blue Fluorite, Larimar, Sapphire, and Turquoise are the stones that resonate with the Throat Chakra and the scent is Lavender.  The Throat Chakra is affected by thoughts and feelings related to: speaking your truth, communication, and asking for your needs to be met.

Chakra 6: ANJA Third Eye Chakra

The Third Eye Chakra works with inner or spiritual sight and vision, relating to the conscious mind. Located between the eyes, it is the center of illumination, the eye of your higher self.  The Third Eye is turned toward you because everything is within you,  there is nothing else except what is in your heart and mind. Connecting you to wisdom, intuition, and ESP,  it impacts your dreams and intuition. It is the basis for all clairvoyant works and is affected by your spiritual beliefs and your feelings about the past, present and future.  The Element is light, the color is INDIGO and the sense it most resonates with is vision. Azurite, Lapis, Sapphire and Sodalite are the stones that resonate with this chakra and the scent is Lotus. When the third eye is cleansed, you will see the eye of your higher self clearly looking at you

Chakra 7: SAHASRARA Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head and is represented by the lotus flower that is forever unfolding towards the divine consciousness. It connects to the universal consciousness of all that is. Accessed  by meditation,  it vibrates at the highest level and when  this stage of consciousness is reached, the fusion of ego and spirit is complete.  Working with claircognizance or clear knowing, it gives you the ability to receive information from the divine mind or collective unconscious.  The element that resonates with the Crown Chakra, is thought and the color is VIOLET.  Amethyst, Sugalite, Selenite, Fluorite and Clear Quartz, are the stones that resonate with this chakra and the scent is Jasmine. The crown chakra is affected by thoughts and feelings relating to: God, spirituality and religion, Divine guidance and trust. A clean crown chakra glows a beautiful purple with white diamond light.
